In the aftermath of the widespread damage inflicted by hurricane Odile in Baja California, the cities of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas are set to host the third Los Cabos International Film Festival 2014.

Hurricane Odile, which reached the Baja California peninsula in September, is the most intense landfalling cyclone registered in the area. Although the authorities reported no casualties, the city’s infrastructure of Los Cabos and La Paz was severely damaged.

...However, despite the difficulties suffered two months ago, according to the organizers, Los Cabos International Film Film festival is ready to take place at the Mexican resort destination from November 12 - 16.

The festival’s director, Alonso Aguilar said, “Those were very stressful days. But as soon as we got in contact with the government agencies and our main commercial sponsors, the decision was unanimous. The festival wouldn’t be cancelef, nor would the dates changed.”

He added, “Los Cabos will be ready, and we want to use the event to shine a spotlight on the destination.”
