A group of young Juárez artists has put the city in the spotlight at Mexico's top film festival.

Called Jellyfish Colectivo, the group recently won best animated short film at the Morelia International Film Festival for its film "9:30 a.m." The nine-minute film centers on a child spending his summer vacations at his grandmother's house.

"We are excited to win, but more happy that Juárez is not only a synonym of bad news, but of positive accomplishments like this one," graphic designer Leonel Portillo of Jellyfish Colectivo said.

Portillo, 27, participated with seven people, including four members of Jellyfish Colectivo, to create, design, edit, animate, compose and record music for the short film.
