Meet the biggest appetite in Mexico: Anthony Bourdain explores the cuisine and politics of Mexico City. (CNN)
My regular job is to travel and shove food and liquor in my face and go to all these fantastic places. Working a bread shift is a lot harder. I know what real work is, and you know what? This ain't it.
- Anthony Bourdain
Like Ernest Hemingway, caviar or fifth-season Walter White, people tend to either passionately love or vehemently hate Anthony Bourdain.
Either the author of Kitchen Confidential and host of CNN's food-travel-politics show Parts Unknown is an arrogant prick who unnecessarily snarks on Food Network darlings Rachel Ray and Paula "I'm Not Racist" Deen, or he's a culinary anti-hero who strips away the preciousness of modern cuisine with a no-BS attitude to get at the roots of humanity's relationship with food.
The fact is he's both. And he's the first to admit that most of what the haters say about him is true. "I was a mediocre chef with a terrible work history," he admits. "I've made some really hateful episodes." And "I am not an educator, a role model or an ambassador. I'd love to say that's my agenda, but it's much more selfish than that."
Get a taste for the unexpected! Travel with Anthony Bourdain as he takes incredible adventures to extraordinary locations.
