Zenani Mandela-Dlamini, the oldest daughter of South African icon Nelson Mandela, will travel to Mexico City to inaugurate the seventh Human Rights Film Festival.
Festival organizers said that Mandela-Dlamini will be in charge of presenting the film Mandela: A Long Walk to Freedom on October 1.
The film, which stars British actor Idris Elba, tells the story of the former South African President when he tried to overthrow the Apartheid government until he became the first black president of his country. Mandela died in December.
“We continue to spread the legacy of the great values of openness, diversity and unity with other human beings, promoting a message of acceptance with the genuine differences among human beings,” said the festival in a statement.
The film festival, which ends on October 5, will showcase more than 20 films, both Mexican and foreign.
