Polo could dump rains from Jalisco state to the southern port of Baja California

teleSUR Update: Polo ripped through the Baja California Peninsula early Saturday, bringing an intense rain for almost 30 minutes which increased flooding.

Polo continues to churn off the west coast of Mexico, right on the heels of once-Hurricane Odile which brought devastation to parts of the Baja California peninsula.

The good news is that Polo will not become the monster that Odile was.

After reaching hurricane status Wednesday afternoon, Polo is now a tropical storm on the decline due to disruptive wind shear.

An eventual track into cooler waters will lead to Polo's demise early next week.

Polo will churn towards the southern tip of Baja through the end of the weekend and will bring downpours to Cabo San Lucas on Sunday.
