Fans attending World Cup games had to walk through a honeycomb-shaped machine instead of traditional manual searches at the Arena de Baizada stadium in Curitiba, Brazil. Called the Qylatron Entry Experience Solution, the machine may soon replace the mostly unpleasant experience of going through airport security checks.
The system was created by Qylur Security Systems and takes just a few seconds to scan for a variety of threats. It has five pods that surround a central censor that makes the process much more efficient by allowing five people through at once.
People entering the stadium simply had to hold their ticket up to a machine, which then assigned them a pod to place their belongings in. Each pod is able to fit most sized bags, but perhaps would need some adjustments to allow for larger carry-ons. The person then closes the door and walks to the other side of the machine. Meanwhile the machine scans the bag and has it ready in about the time it takes for you to reach the other side.
See how the Qylatron works in the video above.
