Our World Saving the Awa Tribe with Justin Rowlatt BBC Documentary 2014 (BBC/hddocumentary)

The Awa are believed to be one of the most endangered tribes on the planet. Loggers and farmers have invaded their land in the Amazon, and their traditional lifestyle is under threat. Now the Brazilian government is finally taking action. Our World follows the dramatic progress of Operation Awa as the troops go in to recover the tribe's land to try and save one of the world's most isolated communities.

Kamara once lived deep in the heart of the Awá territory. Forced to run from the loggers, he survived but was separated from his family: “I tried very hard to find them but I couldn’t.” Everyday he wonders where they are, what are they finding to eat.

Without you, the Awá’s plight would have gone unnoticed. Because of you, the Brazilian government has publicly acknowledged the tribe’s right to their ancestral lands by mounting an unprecedented operation to expel loggers and ranchers.
