Discover Pacifico - Mazatlán Brewery: Mazatlán has always been the heart and soul of Pacifico. It's here where the beer was first brewed in 1900 by German settlers. Even the beer's name comes from the location of the original brewery, which sits right on the beautiful Pacific coast. (Pacifico Beer)
Pacifico wants the world to experience the laid-back lifestyle of its Baja, Mexico, roots virtually with a new campaign that’s part advertising, part travelogue.
In a new effort, the brand is using its bottles’ iconic yellow caps as a point of connection with consumers. The brand is printing GPS coordinates on the underside of these caps, encouraging consumers to enter those coordinates at a dedicated website which will show off unique adventures that can be had in those areas. Among the possible adventures showcased: spearfishing in Santa Marina Bay, surfing in Scorpion Bay or camping on the beach.
In all, the campaign, from agency GSD&M, will showcase 21 spots throughout Baja, mainland Mexico and along the Pacific Coast of the U.S., via 120 million printed bottle caps.
