The quality of their housing, their schools, mobility and environmental conditions, the access to cultural centers, recreation and fellowship, in addition to its natural beauty are elements that position Queretaro, a metropolitan area of Monterrey, Mérida, Yucatán and Colima, Colima as the best cities to live in Mexico.
Out of 51 cities that were evaluated, 4 stand out in a first group for the best perception expressed by 28 thousand citizens in a survey conducted by the agency known as Strategic Communication Cabinet (GCE), to determine the “Quality of Life Index” ICAV (Gabinete de Comunicación Estratégica (GCE), para integrar el Índice de Calidad de Vida “ICAV”).
For second consecutive year, Querétaro, Colima and Mérida remain at the top positions; Monterrey climbed from 15th to second place; and Hermosillo, Sonora went down from third to sixth place.
Features such as adequate services, affordable housing , access to public and private schools, mobility, urban transportation, air quality, recreation facilities, peaceful coexistence among the population, museums and attractions for locals and tourists, historical and cultural sites among others, have been analyzed by the ICAV, in order to determine this ranking.
The ICAV also considers other factors such as natural beauty, perception of life improvement in the city over the previous year and compared to other cities, and all this data is then processed, analyzed and measured in satisfaction scales.
