ASP 6 Star Los Cabos Open of Surf 2013 Highlights (Vision Epica)

LOS CABOS, Mexico - Surf and sport fanatics who are sick of the cold can still get their fix with the "Los Cabos Open of Surf", taking place on June 16-22 along the beaches of Costa Azul. For seven days, local up-and-comers ride with international pros in this esteemed competition. The event will be the largest surf and music festival in Mexico and Latin America and the only combined Men's and Women's 6-Star competition in North America this year.

For the first time, "Los Cabos Open of Surf" is adding a women's competitive division, bringing in names like Anastasia Ashley, winner of 2010 Women's Pipeline Pro, and Malia Manual, youngest to ever win the US Open of Surf (2008). These world-class surfers will be competing for a ticket at the World Championship Tour as well as $155,000 in cash prizes and $40,000 in prize money for the women's event.

"We're ecstatic to be teaming up with the Association of Surfing Professionals while hosting the brand new addition of the 6-Star Women's Division - the second women's division in North America," states Eduardo Segura, Managing Director of Los Cabos Tourism Board. "In bringing some of the world's best female and male surfers to Los Cabos we are innovating the landscape of competitive surf and creating history at the same time."
