Yesterday Enrique Peña Nieto offered to respond "in a timely manner" to the 10 Questions (there are really 14, but they are grouped together into ten sections) publicly posed to him by filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón, who won many prizes at this year's Oscars [7 Oscars, including Best Director] for the movie Gravity.

Explicitly calling himself a "citizen," Cuarón explained "to President Enrique Peña Nieto” the reasons for the existence of "misinformation," which the President attributed to previous criticisms of the energy reform made by the director of Y tu mamá también and Sólo con tu pareja: "The legislative and democratic process of these reforms was poor and lacked any deep discussion, and the diffusion of their content happened in the context of a campaign of propaganda that avoided public debate."

To emphasize the need for the main promoter of the energy reform to detail his promises and offers, citizen Cuarón admitted: "I am not informed because the government that you are leading has not shared with me--with us, the Mexicans - essential elements for understanding the scope and sense of the reforms."

The response from Los Pinos [Mexican White House] clearly confirmed the lack of transparency and grisly character with which the energy reform has been placed into the Constitution, and how they will be used again to achieve its foreseeable passage in the corresponding initiatives of regulatory laws. Instead of taking advantage of the opportunity to have a renowned conversation partner, without any party affiliations or political leanings, to try to convince him and "many Mexicans" who "share" his concerns (the quotation marks are from the first tweet from Peña Nieto on the topic, in which he thanks Cuarón for the questions), the man who was unable to remember three books that had impacted his life was also unable or did not want to answer 10 troubling questions immediately.
