Enrique "Kike" Plancarte Solís, one of the leaders of Knights Templar, was shot by members of the Mexican Navy in Querétaro, according to reports. The infantry of the navy tried to arrest him and he resisted, and had to be killed. Federal Government officials say they have enough information to confirm that the man killed by the Navy is Enrique "Kike" Plancarte solís and they are working to confirm that identity. The operation took place in the municipality of Colón, about 20 minutes from Querétaro. About 200 members of the Mexican Navy and Army conducted the operation which lasted for approximately 24 hours.
He was a high ranking leader of La Familia Michoacana drug cartel. When Nazario Moreno Gonzalez died in 2010, La Familia Michoacana broke off and formed the Knights Templar Cartel. He was one of its top liutenants. He coordinated the production and smuggling operations of methamphetamine from Mexico into the U.S. He had been wanted by the U.S. and Mexico governments.
