President Enrique Peña Nieto has affirmed his government's resolve to continue its assault on the forces of organized crime in Mexico. During a meeting in Michocan, the President indicated that it was thanks to the help of citizens in the troubled Mexican state that Nazario "El Chayo" Moreno was killed. Peña Nieto recognized Michoacan citizens for their "great attitude and tremendous bravery" through informing officals concerning the activities of organized crime.

"It was government secretary that told me, he said: "this isn't about suspicions or different theories. Those people, the people that live under fear and extortion from these groups have seen him,'"explained Enrique Peña Nieto. "It was information from citizens, precisely listening to the society to whom they denounced these activities, that allowed this operation to take place." The Mexican leader affirmed that "Michoacan has become a priority."
