Father Alejandro Solalinde (Jesús Quintanar/Milenio)

MÉRIDA, Yucatán - Priest Alejandro Solalinde Guerra, Human Rights 2012 National Prize winner, accused Enrique Peña Nieto's government of simulating a "virtual reality" of Mexico abroad.

The priest emphasized that in the defense of the human rights of migrants it is necessary to accuse the government because it either violates them or doesn't care for them. In this sense, he warned, "we won't stop being bothersome."

He added: "We cannot simply cherish, care for, or have a healing hand for the person who has been a victim. Of course not! That would be in vain. We advocates are demanding precautionary measures, but we are causing discomfort, and we can't stop causing discomfort and we don't want to stop causing discomfort..."

Solalinde branded the federal government as a "fake" and its policies as "ficticious and high-profile."
