The growth of violence in the last eight years has generated the displacement of 120,000 people around the country. The Chamber of Deputies has proposed the federal government to take action to control and eradicate this problem.

The rise of activities related to drug traffic, kidnapping, money laundering, extortion and their multiple repercussions, as well as the threatening executions made by organized crime has led to many families moving from one region of the country to another, and even abroad.

The National Commission of Human Rights (CNDH) has estimated the number of displaced people to be of about 120,000. These people are mainly from Chiapas, Guerreo, Michoacán [in the south], and Tamaulipas, Nuevo León, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Sinaloa and Baja California [from east to west in the north].
