MEXICO CITY - Aetna, one of the United States’ largest health care benefits companies, and Grupo Nacional Provincial, Mexico’s largest health insurance company, today announced a strategic alliance that embeds Aetna’s international health care coverage in two high-end GNP health care plans sold to residents of Mexico.
The GNP plans, Línea Azul Internacional and Línea Azul VIP, roll out this month with international coverage from Aetna. In addition to domestic coverage in Mexico, the plans’ benefits feature hospitalization, outpatient treatment, pharmacy, and emergency assistance, among other services, in the U.S. and abroad.
Members of the plans will have access to Aetna’s network of more than one million health care providers in the U.S. and an additional 100,000 providers around the globe. Additional benefits include Aetna’s health care management services, mobile technology tools, and extensive health and wellness information.
The plans will cover the members in the U.S. in accordance with U.S. laws and regulations, including health care reform legislation.
