People Drop Trousers for "No Pants Subway Ride" (JewishNewsOne)
Mexico City commuters have been treated to a spectacle as pantless metro riders celebrated their fourth annual 'No Pants Subway Ride'.
The commuters, some without pants and others removing their pants en-route, brought laughter and some disapproving stares as they took a ride amid the regular subway patrons.
'We do it to get a little outside our daily reality in a city like this one,' said event organizer Adrian Pacheco. 'It's like a massive joke. A giant joke.'
'Some look at you with disgust or are frightened or simply look upwards because they disapprove of what you are doing to the people who laugh with you and ask you for a photograph. I imagine there are some who wish they could participate,' said participant Liliana Mares.
The 'No Pants Subway Ride' began in 2001 in New York and is now an annual global event. In Mexico City, the event is organised solely through social media.
