The Resort
Mar de Jade is the perfect space to nurture your body, quiet your mind, inspire your soul, and open your heart! Nestled in a peaceful fishing village between tropical jungle and pristine sandy beaches, Mar de Jade began as a non-profit medical clinic and has slowly evolved as a wellness meca - hosting mediation and yoga retreats as well as volunteer and intern opportunities for medical professionals. Sitting on the shores of Playa Chacala, the town and surrounding areas have much to offer: from jungle hikes, surfing, boating and ancient petroglyphs, to the simple pleasure of playing on the soft sand and swimming in the year-round warm ocean waters.
A portion of proceeds from guests’ stays at Mar de Jade support its non-profit programs, operated by MDJ Community Projects, which currently include: El Jardín, a Montessori – Waldorf inspired K – 6 school in Chacala; La Aldea, a trade school for youth who have dropped out of secondary school because of economic hardship; and El Rancho, an Organic Farm that supplies many of the products for Mar de Jade’s delicious meals.
