PuRR Project 2017 Calendar

We still have some of our beautiful 2017 calendars for sale!

You can pick yours up at our weekly Saturday Adoption Booth in front of Daiquiri Dick’s on Los Muertos Beach from 10:00 to 1:00.

We also have an assortment of our logo T-shirts, caps, can coolers, shopping bags, kitty ears and Christmas cards!

The T-shirts are a great gift for yourself or your cat-loving friends. Meow!

Upcoming Events

KITTY BINGO upcoming dates are December 7 & 21 and January 4 & 18. We are back at the Margarita Grill with food and drink specials for players, a 50/50 raffle and lots of good prizes when you get a BINGO and shout “Meow”!! Cards go on sale at 4:30 and the games start at 5:00. It’s a great way to start your evening in Old Town Vallarta.

The first ADULT BINGO of the season is scheduled for Monday, December 12, 4:00 pm at The Palm, Olas Altas #508. This is always a really good time with performers from The Palm calling the numbers……a show in itself! This is definitely not your grandma’s BINGO……though we always have a few who show up for the fun!

Elsa is a Tabby with unusual markings!

The PuRR Nursery

The nursery and maternity areas at the shelter have been overcrowded for several months as adoptions are slow. We need to find homes for a lot of kittens so we can begin to take in new ones.

Dra. Eva has had her hands full as each newcomer has to be tested, dewormed, vaccinated and then find time to spay or neuter them all!

In addition, rescues are sometimes in poor shape, with eye infections being common.

Occasionally an infected eye must be removed in order to save the kitten’s life and that was the case with little Elsa and Khloe last month. Both are now doing just great, are very friendly and looking forward to finding their Furr-ever homes where they can live out their lives in a safe environment.

For adoption information, contact Linda at adopt@purrproject.com or sign up for a shelter visit on our website to meet our kitties in person: SHELTER VISITS.

Trees & trucks do not mix!

Shelter Update

What’s with that corner???? Another big truck crashed into a tree across from our front gate, bringing down a huge limb that blocked the road. The truck just drove away but Jose and Carlos were able to drag the limb out of the road and no harm was done to the shelter!

The good news is that construction to remodel the Nursery Casita has begun and should be finished before the holidays! All this is the brainchild of a generous benefactor, Vallarta resident Trisha Aljoe!!

After a shelter tour to see the new Senior Center, she was so impressed that she decided the nursery deserved some upgrading, so it’s being expanded with new tile, doors, roof and screening….all at her expense. Thanks, Trisha!!

The Senior Center is being used as a temporary nursery since there is no other space to house the many kittens in residence.

Ana is available for Virtual Adoption and is also Miss August in the 2017 Calendar!

Virtual Adoption

Virtual Adoption is a great way to have a cat without having an actual cat!!

It also makes a unique birthday or Christmas gift for a special friend or family member who loves cats and also provides needed support for the shelter for only $120 or $10 monthly donation.

You can see photos and descriptions of VA candidates and information on HOW to adopt yours at: VIRTUAL ADOPTION.
