As we were walking away from the closing ceremony, I looked at Linda Green, our amazing event chair, and asked, "So Linda, you got that after event 'glow' going now?"

She answered simply, "Yep!"

On  behalf of Vallarta Yacht Club and the Mexican Sailing Federation, we sincerely thank you all for participating in Optinam 2014. We are always inspired by the skill of the sailors, and the dedication of the parents, coaches and team support personnel who work so hard to bring their teams to these events. You are all winners.

To our many volunteers, we thank you for your hard work and dedication to making this event a success. Many of you traveled to Banderas Bay specifically to help. To our sponsors, we are grateful for your support. To the Mexican Sailing Federation and the Mexican Optimist Dinghy Association, thank you for your continued confidence in Vallarta Yacht Club's event management expertise, and thank you for the contribution of people, equipment and expertise. To IODA, thank you for your selection of Mexico for the North American Championships for the third time. We are humbled by your continued confidence in us.

We hope you agree that Banderas Bay is one of the most amazing sailing venues in the world.

Please accept our invitation to return to Banderas Bay to experience the great people, great weather, great food and of course great sailing.

Vallarta Yacht Club hosts a number of events during our regular sailing season, most significantly WesMex International Small Boat Regatta, which regularly attracts over 200 Optimists, Lasers and C420s.
