Volcán de Fuego (Volcano of Fire) in Mexico, will be monitored by a drone designed and built by experts from the University of Colima (UCOL).
A group of experts from UCOL in western Mexico, built a drone capable of reaching up to 4,000 meters of height and fly up to 60 minutes, which first mission is monitoring the volcano.
The drone can be controlled to a distance further than six kilometers, which is not possible with commercial drones, said the researcher Mauricio Breton.
The aircraft can capture the top, lava flows, lahars, scope and affected areas around the volcano, which reduces the cost and preparation time compared to a flight with another type of aircraft, said Breton.
