JOYÀ by Cirque du Soleil - In the Vidanta Theater, Riviera Maya (Mexico News Network)
Joya, the theatrical and culinary experience in the Riviera Maya offered by resort developer Grupo Vidanta and Cirque du Soleil, closed Sept. 1 for its planned production break and will reopen Oct. 2.
Joya premiered last November and has operated at or near capacity in the 600-seat theater-in-the-round Cirque du Soleil Theater, designed by Grupo Vidanta.
“Our shows, including Joya, require the occasional break to allow artists to revive themselves and enjoy a well-earned vacation,” said Yasmine Khali, executive producer of Joya and president of 45Degrees, a Cirque du Soleil company.
Joya is Cirque’s first resident show in Mexico. It will resume its schedule of performances Oct. 2 Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Tickets for Joya from Oct. 2 through 2016 are available at CirqueDuSoleil.com from $70 per person, show only (seating on a high stool), to $225 for the show, dinner and unlimited champagne.
