Mexico’s notorious drug lord, Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, is still on the run after escaping prison earlier this year. El Chapo made his second escape from a maximum security prison in Central Mexico through a secret shower hatch and a 1-mile tunnel.

Days after his shocking disappearance, Fusion’s Mariana van Zeller arrived in Mexico to get a first hand look at the hunt for the world’s most wanted man. What she witnessed was beyond anything expected, and her mission then took an unexpected turn.

In this Fusion original special, Narcos, Guns & Money: Chasing El Chapo, van Zeller also travels to El Chapo’s hometown in Culiacán, Sinaloa - one of Mexico’s most dangerous places - to understand why a community continues to revere a drug kingpin that has brought so much violence and death to his country and abroad.
