After seeing what happened in Jalisco [multi-focused attacks on May 1 by New Generation cartel], it's more important than ever for us to vote. This country cannot continue in this ungovernable state and urgently needs a change at the helm, a punishment at the polls, an electoral strike against the PRI.

In modern democracies, voters decide to punish the government which has done wrong. Sometimes, regardless of the ideological question, they vote for people, not for parties; at others times, they vote for parties rather than people. The aim is to punish whomever has done wrong.

And this is the case in Mexico. Enrique Peña Nieto's government has done so much wrong that it not only has us on the brink of insecurity in narco-states such as Tamaulipas, Jalisco and Guerrero, but also in the rest of the country on the issue of insecurity, the economy and society. Mexico can no longer continue to be ruled by inept politicians that have shown themselves to be ineffective ever since they arrived. If they can't do it, they should leave once and for all.

Now we know that the New Generation Jalisco Cartel is more powerful than the Army, the Navy, the Federal Police, the Jalisco State Police, the municipal police forces and the intelligence system, Cisen.

The proof of this is the shooting down of the Cougar MAT 1009 helicopter, a scene right out of the Hollywood movie Black Hawk Down directed by Ridley Scott. The problem is that we were there, stunned, witnessing a real event and not a science fiction movie. The power of the New Generation Jalisco Cartel forced the crew of the helicopter to make an emergency landing. The result: three soldiers killed, three missing and 12 injured.

Could somebody in the PRI government explain to us how it's possible that a drug cartel shows us coordinated action in 25 Jalisco municipalities, with seven dead, three missing, 39 blockades on streets and highways, 19 injured, 19 arrested and 36 vehicles stolen and burned together with 15 bank branches, one credit union and five petrol stations? And the so-called "cockroach effect" has reached the neighboring states of Colima, Guanajuato and Michoacan, Nayarit, Aguascalientes and neighboring points.
