Former Mexico City Mayor Marcelo Ebrard has requested an injunction against two articles of the new telecoms law, El Universal reports.
Articles 189 and 190 of the new law oblige telecoms operators to provide personal data of users to 26 government agencies. Ebrard said that these articles are unconstitutional and urged citizens to request similar protection actions against these articles.
Mexico's new telecoms law was approved by the Congress and promulgated by the government last month.
